The Journey
At Creative Makes, we believe creativity is a journey, not a race.
Every child—no matter their age or experience—begins at Phase 1: Curious Explorer and moves through the four phases at their own pace.
Our program is designed this way because creativity develops through experience, not age. Each phase builds on the last, starting with confidence and curiosity, then moving into storytelling, planning, and finally, personal expression and creative leadership.
This approach ensures every child develops a strong creative foundation and understands how to experiment, problem-solve, and reflect on their ideas before moving forward. It’s not about being the oldest or the best, it’s about growing as an artist, thinker, and maker.
By the time they reach Phase 4: Creative Artist, children have built not just skills, but confidence, independence, and a real sense of who they are as creators.

Curious Explorer
Our Curious Explorers program is all about discovering, experimenting, and having fun! Children are introduced to five engaging studio centers—drawing, painting, sculpture, construction, and textiles—where they can explore a wide variety of materials and tools. With gentle guidance, they learn to make choices, try new things, and take pride in their creative process.
By the end of this phase, your child will:
-Feel confident trying new ideas, even if they’re unsure of the outcome
-Enjoy experimenting with different materials and techniques
-Develop independence in the studio, including tidying up their own workspace
This is a space where curiosity leads the way, creativity grows, and every child’s imagination is celebrated.
Corageous Storyteller
In the Corageous Storyteller phase, children take their creativity a step further by combining materials, techniques, and ideas to bring their stories to life. They keep a studio journal to document thoughts, experiment freely, and learn to express themselves through art projects that tell a story.
By the end of this phase, your child will:
-Confidently combine materials to create meaningful art
-Explain the intention or story behind their work
-Reflect on their ideas and share their creative thinking with peers
This is a space where imagination meets expression, and every child’s story is celebrated through art.
Confident Maker
In the Confident Maker phase, children learn to take a bigger idea and see it through across multiple sessions. They develop skills, make choices independently, and learn how to use feedback from teachers and peers to evolve their work.
By the end of this phase, your child will:
-Plan and carry a project over several sessions
-Use feedback to improve and develop ideas
-Take pride in their personal style and creative themes
-Take responsibility for their own learning and their studio space
This phase encourages focus, independence, and creative confidence, helping children develop both their skills and their own artistic voice.
Creative Artist
In the Creative Artist phase, children develop their own creative voice and begin to take on leadership roles in the studio. They explore personal themes, reflect on their ideas, and even help inspire younger students.
By the end of this phase, your child will:
-Design, reflect on, and share their own creative ideas
-Lead by example and inspire others
-Create a personal portfolio or artist statement
-Explore personal themes and artistic identity
This phase celebrates independence, confidence, and leadership, helping children refine their artistic style and express themselves fully.
Growing Through Creativity
At Creative Makes, our Creative Explorer classes are where creativity grows with your child. These sessions are about more than learning art skills — they’re about exploring ideas, taking creative risks, and discovering who you are through making.
Children move through different phases of creative development, learning to experiment, express themselves, plan projects, and build their own artistic voice. Each stage is designed to nurture confidence, independence, and curiosity — all through hands-on, joyful, and process-driven art.
And just as importantly, our studio is a community. A place where kids feel safe to be themselves, connect with others, and celebrate each other’s ideas — whether they’re just starting out or developing their own unique style.

Excursions & Special Events
At Creative Makes, we love to add a little extra magic to the studio with special events and excursions designed especially for our Creative Explorers!
From Harry Potter movie nights and Halloween discos to gallery visits and creative conventions like Comic-Con, these experiences give students the chance to connect, be inspired, and celebrate their shared love of art and imagination.
Each event is an opportunity for students to see creativity out in the world — to explore new ideas, discover artists and styles, and have fun with their friends in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

From ages 5 to 16, children and teens are expanding their worlds — asking questions, exploring identity, and discovering who they are. Art gives them a powerful way to make sense of it all.
